Note: it's a 1-hour check-in when someone is playing from your shared library. But how is any of that beneficial to a person that wants to play a single player game and has no intention of sharing it with anyone else? How would the check-in benefit them?

Ooh, I hadn't even thought of that, I can think of several 360 games offhand that I read had a bad patch, that I waited on patching until it was remedied (while still playing the "unpatched" version). Another good point.

Lenas to be clear the only person here making any arguments or claims about consumer benefits is you. No one else is under any illusion this is in our interest, most of us here just don't give a **** about it because 1 we stay connected and 2 we don't pirate games for the Xbox.

FYI, Amazon's already sold out of its initial allocation of PS4 units (it became available for preorder during Sony's conference). The Xbone has been up for longer, and hasn't accomplished it yet. Again, pretty meaningless given that we don't know allocation numbers for either system, but still.

PS4 Vs. Xbox One: Amazon Splits PlayStation 4 Preorder Page, May Not Ship On Release Date Due To High Demand

Amazon adds to Microsoft’s list of problems: The Sony PS4 preorder page is firmly in first place on the online retail giant’s list of bestselling video games. The Xbox One falls to second place, and but the PlayStation 4 also pops up in third place on the list. Amazon now claims they may not be able to promise PS4 delivery on the launch date due to overwhelming demand.



Amazon was forced to split the PS4 preorder product listing into two due to high demand. Amazon also listed the following “Product Alert” on the PS4 preorder page: “The standard version of the PlayStation 4 is identical to the Launch Edition. Due to high demand, we cannot guarantee Release-Date Delivery on the standard version of the PlayStation 4. We will deliver the standard version of PlayStation 4 as close to its release date as possible.”

Those that preorders the PS4 also got the following message:

“Dear Amazon.com Customer,

Thank you for pre-ordering the PlayStation 4. Yesterday, we made a change to the name of the product by adding “Launch” and “Standard” editions, which may have caused confusion for some of our customers.”



Sony also comes in eighth and tenth place on the list, with the Dualshock 4 controller for the PS4 currently at number eight, and the $20 PlayStation Network Card rounding out the top ten. The only other Xbox product on the list is in twelfth place, for the Xbox 360 version of Ubisoft’s Far Cry 3.

Ms is definitely maintaining the "you should play the 360!" Line.

What's with MS not want me to buy their console. Maybe it's reserve psychology because "to screw over MS" would be a good reason to buy one.
