Interesting that the theoretically liberal media is failing to report that more republicans than democrats are retiring among governors, the senate, and the house.
Hmmm, I've read it in the WSJ, the Washington Post, Politico and Fox News - hell even Yahoo! news had this to say:
Quote:
That said, the GOP has troubles of its own, with even more Republicans than Democrats leaving Congress and governors mansions instead of running again.
In the House, 14 Republicans and 10 Democrats are retiring, and Robert Wexler, a Florida Democrat, has resigned, leaving one vacancy.
In the Senate, six Republicans, including several in swing states requiring expensive campaigns, and four Democrats, including Dodd and Dorgan, aren't running.
Among governors, four Republicans who can seek re-election are opting not to while the same can be said for three Democrats, including Ritter.
Perhaps it's just strange that the Democrat meme, so loudly shouted from the rooftops, I think I even heard it here (nah, no one here would say such a thing), that the Republicans were going to be out of power for decades is now sounding so resoundingly hollow after only a year into their "generational control".
