the presidency is more robust than one man.
And the FBI is certainly more than one person, so I don't see how your claimed distinction has any merit.
I'm not seeing how the FBI should get a pass for knowingly using politically manufactured evidence to violate the privacy of an American citizen for any reason.
It's worse than that, actually.
When you look at the timelines, you'll be absolutely furious. The memo was introduced
for the purpose of hiding prior criminality. There had, prior to the memo's introduction, been a string of 702 FISA abuses going on where raw SIGINT was being used to spy on US citizens (political opponents of Democrats) without warrants. When Mike Rogers discovered this he turned off the spigot and started an inquiry into why. The dossier was created to paper over the abuses and provide cover for continuing the illegal opperation
after the fact with the belief that once this work had been done and Clinton's election secured, none of this would have been investigated.
So again, the dossier was knowingly introduced
to hide a much larger malfeasance, and then when the election was lost, and they were all exposed, they attempted a soft coup to force President Trump out if office before he could act to expose the truth.
People will, quite literally, hang for this.
