Go feral tank and do instances on rested exp, imo.

It's fast, the queues are almost instant, and with heirlooms and the rested exp, it flies by.

I keep a stable of alts, and try to only level them on rested exp.

Well I guess we can solve the mystery of how Garrosh turns out in the expansion. Looks like he goes full Heel!

Garrosh, like King Wrynn, is already 100% heel.

Wrynn is much less of a douchebag than Garrosh. He's become more sympathetic recently.

Garrosh? Yeah, he's gone full douchebag.

The storm wind King, while an ***, is understandable. If you go through his history, actual and retconned, you can easily understand why he is the way he is.

Garosh was a whinny emmo orc in outlands who suddenly found his pair and decided he was a monster human killer all of the sudden.

It was funny watching people ***** about it when they wiped the first few times.

Never understood the need to hide behind him, anyway.

It's the hardest 5 man available. If you have people that can't hang, don't go.

I got into a random group on it today... I was highest DPS with 3700. The Hunter was doing 1900 DPS and the Shaman was doing 2200. Tank was doing 2k even.

That group cost me half of my durability.

Well problem with that is randoms. I had a couple of guildies get it on alts, and listening to them in vent wiping was painful. These are two very good players mind you. Things people get away with routinely in other 5 mans will cause a wipe in H:HoR, and that's good! but yeah if you get bad players, ouch.

I only started doing it after the patch. I always found it hilarious when people insisted on trying to hide behind him, when I was always advocating "Let's do it the way it's intended to be done".

Only Falric requires any significant DPS in Halls of Reflection. The Instance is primarily about knowing WHERE to focus fire. People who treat it like an AoE Frag Fest deserve repair bills.

I haven't been active in WoW since before ICC was released, but now that I'm going to have a break from work, I'm looking to get back in. My hunter is chillin with the 0/15/56 spec but I am reading a lot about MM now and I guess my main question is what should I go with?

Probably only going to be running 10m ICC since I've lost my 25m raid spot.

Also, suggestions on "priority" upgrades would be nice.

Finally killed Festergut on Friday night. Yes it took the buff to do it. It's kinda crazy that we had 4 people above 9k, 7 above 8, 11 above 7k and it was JUST barely enough. As in, we won at 4:59.

http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/x6qq ... 816&e=7115

For my part, I really should have broken 10k, or at least high 9's. I had to run out once and I can still time my cooldowns/potions better than I did.

Those are pretty good numbers for yourself, Dash. :p Rogues should typically top 10k, especially with the 5% buff, but I wouldn't expect it of rets. You're definitely doing a little carrying there... :p The good news is that he's a fight that should go down pretty easily now that you've got him. We couldn't reach the enrage timer the first few weeks. We got more gear and had some player changes and in something like 2 weeks' time after our first kill he's almost a guaranteed one-shot. Very repeatable.

You should probably have more ranged classes stand in melee range though, as a tip! We keep 8 outside. I think 6 or 7 is the minimum number needed so that melee don't get targeted with Vile Gas. Less people that have to run around for spores the better, though. Spriest (who don't need spores ever) and Hunters (who need to be at ranged regardless) should be at range, and then we generally prefer Mages next (Ice Block the first Blight, so they only need spores for the second). We'll generally stick 1 healer at range, too. Then it's just whoever... Warlocks with their Demonic Circle cuts down on time spent running a little but it's pretty minor.

Yeah I *think* we only keep 8 outside as well. I believe we let the DPS shammy in melee and another player or two.

How many healers and tanks do you go with though? I think we had 6 healers, that sounds like a lot. Tanks I want to say we had 3. So that's a lot to make up for, although the pally tank was pulling 5500 dps which isnt too shabby at all.

I'm bored so I will reply just to do something. Keep in mind I don't raid (ever) and haven't played my hunter in a group in about 4 months (been playing alts too much).

First, Why did you put in a stamina gem (blue) in your pants? The tear would have been better if you are working for the socket bonus, then slam a red in the non-socket bonus belt buckle. As a rule of thumb, if the bonus is +4 or less, it's better to just ignore it and slam a +20 agil in it. If you need to activate the meta then use the tear where you will get the best socket bonus from it. Everything else is +20 agil.

As for MM? I don't think you will see any gains over SV. From my understanding by the number crunchers out there, you need to be able to reach the cap with the proc from trinket (which you don't have) to make it viable over SV. YMMV

And if you ask me.......I am kinda looking for a small nerf to MM in the near future, since the PvP whiners on the O forums are complaining about the amount of burst +MS that MM has atm. If you like playing SV, just stick with it IMHO.

With my poorly geared hunter I've gone back and forth over the past months and usually find that SV edges out MM. This would probably change if I had top end gear with loads of ArP, but that will never happen.

All that said, there may be some here who are better equiped (no pun) to answer your question. I was just bored and saw your post ;)

WoL shows 10 people hit by Vile Gas, which is only cast on ranged people (unless there aren't enough at range to begin with). A couple (healy priests) were only hit in the latter half of the fight which would either be RNG or they moved out or somefin. Ah well.

We bring 6 healers and 2 tanks as is pretty standard, I think. If your raid can beat the enrage timer there's no benefit to bringing less healers, though that's one area you can possibly cut down in if enrage timer is an issue. Judging by WoL you used 2 tanks as well, which is the best way to go DPSwise. 90% damage buff + a hand of salvation leads to pretty sweet damage by the tanks. :p

People do talk somewhat often about cutting down on healers for some fights, but barring issues with enrage timers I can't really understand it. ICC is pretty healing-intensive in many of its fights. This is especially prevalent on 10 mans. I've 2-healed every fight in the place now outside of Lich King and some fights are just miserable with only 2 (1 tank 2 healer non-burn P3 method is almost a contradiction, but it eventually worked). In many cases it's doable fine with 2, but the question is why bother? Again, if Festergut's enrage timer isn't an issue, dropping your healers from 6 to 5 makes your kill 10-15 seconds faster but greatly increases a risk of a wipe if your tank decides he doesn't want to dodge or parry 4 attacks in a row. Blood Queen is similar, with more difficult healing. It's almost impossible to hit the enrage on Blood Princes. etc etc. Then for Dreamwalker you probably should prefer 7 healers, so unless your guild is really flexible with dual spec healers it could be problematic. :p

If your healers can manage and overall raid dps is problematic then dropping down to 5 is a pretty viable way to turn your 2% wipes into wins. Otherwise I don't really see a benefit.

I once jumped a Hunter soloing fire elementals in Wintergrasp, without first putting my PVP gear.

I was killed in two global cooldowns! :p One, actually, since the Aimed Shot came first as soon as she could, then 1 GCD later the Chimera Shot came to finish the job.

I relate this amusing story not so much as an indication that MM hunters are OP or not, but more to say that PVP in WoW is broken, bandaid fixed by resilience gear. :( My PVE gear, while not 25 man hard mode stuff by any means, is hardly shabby, and... two abilities + autoshot finished me from start to finish! I suppose a wolf chewing on me in the meantime deserves mention, and without it I don't think I'd have been fully killed by that chimera shot, but on the other hand, yeah, Aimed Shot is a 50% MS debuff.. :p

I try to banish this memory all the time but this is twice now in as many days someone brings up painfully relevant discussions! My shameful leavetaking of Wintergrasp... the mockery by guildmates... and by myself for not putting PVP gear on... it's still a fresh wound!

So, as of now, I can get no upgrades from ICC10. The irony is, despite the instance being entirely useless to me from a gear perspective, we still haven't beaten professor putricide. (Festergut and Rotface are the only things we've done past Saurfang.) I can only get upgrades from ICC-25 now, and I'm running that with a semi-regular "PUG" (about 18 regulars from 5 or 6 guilds, and the rest new additions every week.) We got Rotface down to 4% on Saturday in it, so it's not incompetent, but I can't see us progressing that far.
