I just quit my facebook account. Defriended everyone, removed all pictures, tags, set everything to friends only privacy (equals zero) and deactivated the account.
This is what I replied with in the "reason for leaving" comment box. Wow, I didn't know I would be given a post-facebook interview.

Facebook is a good concept, which is why I'm taking the time to write this reply, but the people ruin it. The few people that I actually hang out in real life, I actually hang out with...in real....life. Too many people use Facebook as a replacement for their social life...people fall into a few groups...either they post funny quotes / links, complain about some aspect of their life or other people, or they post uninteresting stuff....and if they were my actual friend, stuff I would already know. It's almost like an attention whoring popularity contest. I'd explain further, but I'm really getting tired of spending any more time on this good idea of a website which has now turned into a complete cesspool of stupidity and pointlessness. For 3 years my sister talked me into getting a Facebook account and I refused. I finally did get a facebook account, and I saw how cool of a site it could be...then I realized I was right in the first place. Just watch the South Park facebook episode for further explanation. Adios, Facebook. I wonder how many years this site will last, as far as being profitable from advertisement and affiliates which also add more pointless garbage to the website...actually..I bet it will last forever, because as the great Einstein said... "Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former."
Long story short...if people want to know me, they already know me or will know me in the future. Peace out
Yeah...someone said something to me that was completely out of line...she was a facebook stalker. Used that topic to bring up something very personal about me in front of her entire family while I was in a car with them. There was about 30 seconds of awkward silence...and I had to break the damn silence, but I kept going on with what I was saying, completely ignoring the comment, even though it was clear it had really offended me. They dropped me off, I got outta the car, said have a good 4th. No, this wasn't even a girlfriend. Haha. Wow...it's weird when someone you've met for the 2nd time in a one and a half year timespan knows more about you than you do and tells you how to live your life. Oh, and also coworkers getting into your personal life. I mean, when you work a night shift, it's nice to have friends that are on your schedule, so you just naturally become friends and develop relationships, etc. This type of **** and real life doesn't mix. At all.
Facebook is way too public, yet too impersonal.
I felt bad de-friending some people, but those people are my real friends and will understand.
