Where do you get the idea that I am affiliated with ANY Tea Bag organization anywhere?? I've said it here before and most people here already know that my political leanings are very liberal, with a bit of conservatism thrown in for balance! Then again, you can't be bothered to read anything anyone posts here, you just want to come in and spew your hatred of conservatives and call everyone here racist, over and over and over, because that's all you know!
You've actually hit the nail on the head. The real problem with Monty is that he simply does not read or consider what's written. He makes up his mind what he wants before he reads, reads about 3 lines, if that, assumes the rest, runs it through his liberal filter, and responds to whatever fits his views.
The reason we know this is that he does it in the game forums too. In Taly's game there have been several incidences, on this iteration and the previous one where he posted actions that clearly indicated he had not read the previous responses. Everyone makes mistakes like that in game threads from time to time but it was a regular thing with Monty. I'm told (haven't read that game carefully since I didn't play it) that he did the same thing in the Star Wars threads he participated in.
That's the heart of it: He simply does not know or care what any idea that's not part of his views might be. If you look at any of his responses longer than 1 line, when he's addressing practically any issue, they're simply regurgitations of his original position. He's
argumentum ad nauseum personafied. He seems to think his positions are so unassailable, so completely reasonable and rational that they need no support or argument; anyone who does not simply accept them must be some sort of immoral nutcase for not adhereing to his orthodoxy.
It also doesn't matter how completely owned he gets on any issue; he will inevitably come back later claiming that he "debunked" the original position, and that "mountains of evidence" support him. He's doing that right now in the HIGCC thread(s) and he inevitably uses the assumption of victory on one issue as an illustration of how no one listens to him on any other.
As for hating him, in a couple cases he might be right. Most of us don't hate him though; we're simply exasperated at his unreasonableness and hypocrisy. Elmo can speak for himself in that regard. Like I said before, I respond to him because he makes hidden assumptions that appeal to people unfamiliar with the issues. I know we have lurkers, and a lot of the time, the sort of idiocy he spouts is presented on sites where contrary views are simply banned (no matter how loudly they protest that they don't).
