HP, bandages, etc...
Random samples, based largely on when I have screenshots that show my HP!
June 9, 2008, first Amani war bear for my guild -- with Fort and GotW, just shy of 10k hp. This was before we killed any bosses in BT and only ... 2 or maybe 3 total kills of Hyjal bosses, so it's predominantly T5 gear. A Heavy Netherweave bandage then would've been about a third of my hp in a raid.
July 19, 2009, Firefighter 10 man -- with Fort, GotW, Kings, and food, at 22k hp. This was a few months into Ulduar, though my guild didn't have more than a few kills on most of the later Ulduar25 bosses. Average ilvl is still probably close to 226, though perhaps a bit below. Still probably close enough to call it pretty thoroughly T8 geared. I think I'm around 26k hp fully buffed now, though it's hard to say with Hellscream's Warsong. I was probably around 20k in T7, with a stretch of 20k-26k or so for the expansion for me. A Heavy Frostweave back during Firefighter would've been just over a quarter of my hp.
July 1, 2011 -- ?? Who knows! I am a bit skeptical of the 1300 sta leaked blue cloak. That would be an upgrade over my current ilvl 264 cloak by 1231 stamina -- after Kings, this is an increase in health by over 13500 hp. From my cloak alone. My ilvl 264 chestpiece has close to double the sta my cloak does, so a similar chest upgrade would tack on something like 26000 more hp. These two upgrades + all my other current WotLK gear would put me over 50k hp already... with 11-12 more stamina-giving upgrades to go. Cloaks are pretty low on stamina, too. Eyeballing my Armory, assuming that 1300 sta on the cloak is standardized in a similar fashion to stamina nowadays, I'd be expecting the average upgrade to be 20,000 hp. 11 more upgrades at 20k hp each = 220k added to that 50k.... 270k hp? Dense Embersilk would be only 1/8th of my hp at that point.
Still, HP will almost certainly be going up by a lot, even if that 1300 sta cloak is blatantly fabricated, something misleading, stamina gives less hp, or item ratios change.
Some more assumptions to make! Dense Embersilk is, I believe, going to be the 3rd tier of bandage. Embersilk -> Heavy Embersilk -> Dense Embersilk. If you want to compare bandages, you'd have to compare Heavy Embersilk to Heavy Frostweave, but the problem is they are putting some conscious emphasis on bandages this time around and it seems likely they won't stick to the old formula. If they do, you basically multiply a current bandage by .825ish to get the value for the previous tier. 28.5k or so. If at a certain point of progression we say that this bandage would be, eh, 28.5% of your hp total, that would be 100k hp for a typical healer. If they pull a fast one on us and balance bandages around the best one but keep to the old percentages (making normal and Heavy bandages relatively worse than they are today), this would be Dense at around 30% of your hp with a result of 116k hp.
But... it's a whole lot of guessing either way. This current friends and family stage won't last very long, and we'll have a proper, non-NDA beta soon to answer all our questions.
edit: Also, from the wording on that professions preview, it seems like bandages will have a "short" cast time with the usual heal over 8 seconds that can be broken by damage. This will go a long way towards making them more usable. Basically you could use one for only a "short" time spent casting it, and provided you're not getting hurt within the next few seconds it's all sweet. There would be a lot of opportunities for this in current content.
This will provide an answer for the sea of frostweave my alts/mules are swimming in, at least!
